How to Install Rubber Ring on a Pressure Cooker

Pressure cookers are equipped with a rubber ring that served as a seal. Technology and safety with pressure cookers have been innovated and newer models are furnished with rubber rings as a seal.

Rubber rings are not only helpful in maintaining the correct pressure levels in the cooker, they are also useful in preventing the lid from bouncing and threaten to fly off.

The rubber ring is also referred to as a gasket and it functions the same with the gasket on the door of the refrigerator.

The installation is quick and easy, it will take a little of your time when you follow these steps:

  • Study the lid of the pressure cooker. Locate the lip curls that can be found under to latch into the rim of your pressure cooker when you lock the lid.
  • Press gradually the rubber ring up below the lid. Never twist the rubber ring when pushing it with your fingertips on its place.
  • Continue pressing out the rubber ring up under the lid, with your fingers and with the gasket until the rubber ring is securely fasten on the lid.
  • Place the lid on the pressure cooker and secure to lock it in place, as if you are going to use it on cooking. Make it a point that the lid was aset smoothly, without unusual resistance. If there is a resistance, pull out the lid and adjust the rubber ring until it will be sealed properly.

As a tip, make sure that you have the right rubber ring that is compatible with the model with your pressure cooker before attempting to install it. Contact your manufacturer to inquire of the correct rubber ring that is fit with your pressure cooker model.

Also, when cleaning the pressure cooker after using it, remove the rubber ring and wipe it carefully with warm and soapy water. Make sure to remove thoroughly the food debris on the rubber ring. It will help your rubber ring to last longer.
